Introduction
Go minimal! This is what the Tiny House Movement is all about. A simple yet resourceful living being at the core of the modern era, houses today are becoming compact and clutter-free.
The current environmental and financial concerns clubbed with the desire to have more freedom have led people to follow simpler and efficient ways of living. With the rapid growth of technology and smart living, there is an opportunity to design efficient spaces with the feeling of homeliness.
Volume Zero Competition’s Tiny House Architecture Competition sought to revamp the notions of a home, as a personal sanctuary through innovations in design and technology. The competition aimed to celebrate individuality, redefine sustainability and exalt simple, resourceful living.
Participants had to design homes as an innovation of maximum usable space in a minimum footprint, thus redefining sustainability. This well-conceptualized house must also be mobile and can be easily towed to the desired location when required.
The very first edition of the competition witnessed a sizeable amount of innovative ideas and concepts. Amongst them, the esteemed jury picked the most avant-garde ideas as the winning entries.
Volume Zero thanks all the participating members and teams for their entries in the Tiny House 2017 Architecture Competition!
